Anyone know of any companies wanting an economist or econometrician? Especially in Houston? and I also speak a little bit of Japanese! I looked into ADVFilms Greg but at the moment, they don't have anything open for me. Thanks guys

Hey guys- sorry so long no write. I am off graveyard shift but into hard working shift. We are losing 4 people on Tuesday to go to Germany to help bring out the new ship, the Pride of Hawaii. It will be a very stressful couple of days/weeks until we get replacements but I'll survive (with a lot of caffeine *wink wink*) Anyway, it seems like I have now finally accepted being here. It's almost as if I know it's gonna be horrible so I can deal with it now. There are job openings here and there but nothing to tweak my interest. Maybe the shore excursion desk would be fun to work at- we'll see if I put my resume in for that. I still am missing being home- and when I get there, I bet it will be hard to fall asleep the first couple of nights with the lack of rocking- you'd be surprised how nice that is at night! Anyway, let me know how y'all are doing. Wish I could talk more but with the time change, it's hard. Take Care!

Well, still missing all of you very much! My shift has changed to the graveyard shift. That means I work from 10pm to 8:30am. I have now done it a week and I actually like it- less guest interaction. Because of that I have more time in the day (mostly for sleep) but yesterday I got to go on my first shore excursion- to the Hilo Botanical Gardens- check out my new page for pictures! Well, I am gonna read all my emails and then hit the sack- have a great day!

Today I have been drawing lines on Hawaii maps for my morning shift. It is rather difficult because my immediate supervisor told me to do so, but his supervisor didn’t know that and was irritated I wasn’t answering the phone. I am so confused! I would have worked on them in the back but Carlos told me to do it up front. Maybe I misunderstood someone or something. Oh well. It’s been three weeks since I have been home as of yesterday and Saturday will be two weeks on the ship. If all works out the way it should and I receive my extension, I will be gone til June 3, which is 23 more weeks once Saturday comes…that sounds like so-o much! Anyway, that is all I have for now. Oh, here is where I will be day-to-day, week-to-week:

Saturday: Honolulu, Oahu departing in the evening to Hilo, Hawaii

Sunday: Hilo, Hawaii departing in the evening to Kahului, Maui

     Monday: Kahului, Maui overnight

Tuesday: Kahului, Maui departing in the evening to Kona, Hawaii

Wednesday: Kona, Hawaii departing in the evening to Nawiliwili, Kauai

     Thursday: Nawiliwili, Kauai overnight

Friday: Nawiliwili, Kauai departing mid-afternoon to Honolulu, Oahu

When I am in Kona (Wed.), we do not port- we are too big so we anchor off the coast. So if I try to talk to anyone on my cell, the connection is weak- just to let y’all know. I found out this week that we travel around 1000 nautical miles each week- that is 1150 miles! Exciting huh?!? I am of the Pride of America if you forgot or wanted to visit me ; )That is all I have for now, hopefully I will be taking pictures soon- too early for me yet. I hope to hear updates from anyone who wishes to share! Miss everyone!!
